While I am reading Pamuk’s book |
There is a knock at the gate |
My friends bear a mischievous look |
One of them holds a plate |

They all gather into my room |
This dirty mess of a place |
The camera is set to zoom |
The cake set upon its base |

Post candles, wishing and bumps |
In a bold attack they partake |
I get covered in cream lumps |
With their sweet assault of cake |

Thanks to Pongal, I had a larger than life kingsize feast today. Somehow in the last 2 days my luck seems to know no bounds. Another thing. Eating ganna requires serious skill. A competition is in order. Another thing. Its not possible to work on an empty stomach. Its also not possible to work on one which is filled up 300%. So retiring myself to the bed.

Oh miracles, you surprise me |
And well by definition you should |
For showing nothing to be an impossibility |
You deserve nothing less than sainthood |

The universe is a highly active place |
With heavenly bodies constantly forming |
Sometimes however a great star is born |
One makes me merry every morning |

The mind rattles the sky and digs the ground |
Searching for those expressions till they are found |
Thus meeting the constraints of meaning and sound |
The poem emerges, leaving me spellbound |

Absolute dualities are important because they allow the use of the law of the excluded middle, which in turn allows the use of reductio ad absurdum, an often used way to prove things. So one way to refute an RAA argument is to prove the presence of a triality, quadrality,..enality or a continuum. Take the famous example that the absence of dissastisfaction is not satisfaction.

The ancients divided the universe into earth and heaven. Everything non-earth was a heavenly body. But this distinction is so wrong. After all isn’t the earth a heavenly body for the Martians, Jupiterans, Asteroidians, and the Venusites!! I refuse to consider Earth as my only frame of reference.
