A child who loved lotuses asked his father, ‘Why are there so few of them?’. He replied ‘You see, there are a lot of buds. As these buds grow, the surrounding mud tries to soil them and foil them and spoil them. Few of the buds fight and become lotuses, the rest give in and become mud itself. So though you will find many a bud, there are only few lotuses in the mud’.

What is God if not the laws of nature, or more precisely, the interactions among nature’s elements of which we have been able to codify a few into laws, and imperfectly yet. And then God’s biggest devotees are not the “pious” people who go to places of worship everyday, but the scientists, engineers and mathematicians who get to study and play with these interactions, create new things and bring benefits to all.
